Next Monday's Meeting The Rotary Club of Baker City is the local chapter of Rotary International, a worldwide organization of more than one million men and women. Rotary club members are part of a diverse group of professional leaders working to address various community and international service needs. Through community service and other means, Rotary club members help promote peace and understanding throughout the world. Baker City Rotary was charted in June 1956 and has been very active in local community events for more than fifty years. Our local club consists of forty business and professional members. We sponsor inbound and outbound high school exchange students every year, install US flags throughout town at important holidays, assist with major local events such as Miner's Jubilee, sponsor a middle school speech and essay contest and host students for statewide athletic events that are held in Baker City, Oregon. We are part of Rotary District 5100 and our club participates in local, regional, national and international projects by offering our services. We also raise funds for the Rotary International Foundation which assists with humanitarian projects worldwide. The Baker City Rotary meets every Monday at the Best Western Sunridge Inn for a noon luncheon meeting with a program that includes a guest speaker. Visiting Rotarians are welcome. Meeting attendance is limited to members and invited guests. Membership in the club is by invitation only. |
